Mens Waxing and VPH Hair Removal
VPH differs from laser treatments as it offers a non-ablative solution to permanent hair removal. It uses an Intense Pulse of Light, emitted in the form of flashes by very high-tech equipment. This technique is non-invasice and permanent, and can be carried out in perfect comfort and safety, for the long-lasting removal of unwanted hair.
How Does it work?
Pulsed light is absorbed by melanin (a coloured pigment) present in hair during the growth stage (anagen phase), and then is is conducted down to the root of the hair. This light is turned into heat, and it is the heat that destroys the folicle and the root without side effects.
Who is it for and for what parts of the body?
Pulsed light hair removal can be carried out on all healthy skin, light or dark(up to a Fitzpatrick 5), both men and woman, and on all parts of the body. However, you should try not to expose treated areas to the sun before or after each session. The absense of melanin in the hair prevents the transfer of heat, which is the reason lack of results with white hairs and why extra sessions are needed with fair hairs.
What are the results?
People receiving this Pulsed Light treatment show at least an 80% success rate for hair not growing back. Clinical research conducted in a number of countries for years, confirm its high level of effectiveness.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on the nature and type of the skin, skin pigmentation, age and sex. Usually regular intervals of 4-6 weeks.
